PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Graduated with a Master degree in Economics and Business
Administration followed by a Specialization in
International Business and Management, at the National
Institute of Foreign Trade, is now, a Member and
Representative for Hungary of the International Trade
Development Association (Association of Experts
Specializing in International Trade). He also, speaks
Italian, English, Spanish, and Hungarian fluently.
Dr. Cocchioni has initially worked in the United Kingdom,
in Venezuela, and in Spain as a consultant, completing
feasibility studies on the creation of commercial and
production joint-ventures, mainly focusing on the
electronic appliances and wood processing sectors.
In January 1991, at the dawn of the liberalization of the
Central-East European markets, he moved to Hungary, a
strategic country for the entire region, where he
concentrated on the research and analysis of company law,
necessary investment procedures, and actual follow-through
guidance, by providing administrative, management, and
operational consultancy services to investors.
During the numerous years of operations he has developed
and evolved the range and scope of services offered in
relation to the diverse development stages of the countries
in the area: starting from planned economies in transition,
moving to emerging market economies, and further into
economies harmonizing according to EU entry standards, and
finally for some, the entry into the European Union.
He has provided services to both small and medium
enterprises and to groups operating at an international
scale, providing assistance for both market entry and start
ups and further development for already established
businesses. Moreover, he has collaborated with Farest
S.p.A., the first international consultancy firm partly
owned by Banca Simest, as a coordinator to the start up and
organizational structure in Hungary.
Since 1998 Dr. Cocchioni has been the Statutory
Auditor for the Italian Hungarian Chamber of Commerce; in
which from 2000 to 2003 also acted as
Arbitrator. Presently, he is the President of the
Board of the Statutory Auditors. During the period
preceding the entry into the European Union Dr. Cocchioni
was the President of the Investment and Finance Commission.
He also was an Expert Committee Member of the Cassa di
Risparmio di Trieste Banca. He dealt with the launch and
structure of the “Sportello Europa” (European
Structural Fund Information Desk), established in the
Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary, (in collaboration
with the Italian Embassy in Budapest and with the Budapest
I.C.E. office). Presently, he is the President of the
Expert of the Committee.
He has completed numerous publications from which the first
one was „Guida agli investimenti in Ungheria”
(A guide to investing in Hungary). He finished the first
translation and interpretation of Company Accounting Law,
Business law, in the Italian language and created the first
dictionary of management and accounting terminology in
Italian-Hungarian, having studied the gradual process of
harmonization between the local and the international
accounting practice, and its application.
Having created and perfected diverse publications and
studies on the Central-Eastern European countries SME
financing systems, on the foreign trade procedures, on the
customs systems, on the fiscal systems, on effective
international implementation strategies, and on the
european structural fund. He has also wrote copious
articles for economic journals on economic, organizational,
fiscal, financial and managerial themes.
He has continuously been involved with teaching, by
participating in different projects and holding seminars in
the areas of accounting, finance, and management, and
focusing on the processes and difficulties faced by firms
taking part in international trade (Chamber of Commerce,
Formeco, University of Economics).
